Varkaus
town in the region of Northern Savonia in Finland
Varkaus is a town in Northern Savonia, Finland. As of January 2014 Varkaus had a population almost of 22,100 people. Neighbouring municipalities are Heinävesi, Joroinen, Leppävirta, Rantasalmi and Savonlinna.
The former municipality of Kangaslampi was merged with Varkaus on 1 January 2005.
In Joroinen is a small airport called Varkauden lenteasema.
