Rick Nash

Canadian ice hockey player

Richard McLaren Nash (born June 16, 1984 in Brampton, Ontario), better known as Rick Nash, is a former Canadian professional ice hockey right winger for the Columbus Blue Jackets where he is the team's captain. He also played for the New York Rangers and Boston Bruins of the NHL as well as the HC Davos. He was picked by the Blue Jackets with the first overall pick in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. He played in the OHL with the London Knights.

He was on the Team Canada's men's ice hockey team in the 2010 Winter Olympics where they won the gold medal.

Rick Nash retired from playing hockey in 2018 due to concussion symptoms.

  • Nash won the Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy in 2004 and shared the trophy with Ilya Kovalchuk and Jarome Iginla.

  • Nash won the NHL Foundation Player Award in 2009
