Occident

originally the Western part of Europe, from the 21st century onward the entire Western world

Occident is a term meaning "the west".

Edward Said also used the term in his book Orientalism (1978). He used it to mean Western countries that had colonized the Orient. This in particular includes France, Great Britain and later the United States.[1]
