Michael J. Cleary
Irish Roman Catholic Bishop
Michael J. Cleary (1 September 1925 – 3 September 2020) was an Irish-born Gambian Roman Catholic prelate. He was the Roman Catholic Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Banjul in Gambia. He was born in Brickens, County Mayo, Ireland.
Cleary was made a priest on 29 June 1952. On 24 January 1981, he was made Bishop of the Diocese of Banjul.[1] Cleary retired on 25 February 2006.
Cleary died on 3 September 2020, aged 95.[2]
