James Brokenshire
British Conservative party politician, MP and minister (1968–2021)
James Peter Brokenshire (8 January 1968 – 7 October 2021) was a British politician. He was Minister of State for Security at the Home Office from 2020 to 2021. He was a member of the Conservative Party. He was part of Theresa May's Cabinet as Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government from 2018 to 2019 and Secretary of State for Northern Ireland from 2016 to 2018.[2][3]

Brokenshire was a Member of Parliament (MP) for Old Bexley and Sidcup from 2010 until his death.
In December 2017, Brokenshire was diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer.[4] He died from the disease on 7 October 2021 at a hospital in Dartford, England at the age of 53.[5][6][7]
