Gabi Calleja
Maltese LGBT rights activist
Gabi Calleja is a gay rights activist in Malta.[1] In 2012, she received the International Women of Courage Award from the U.S. State Department.[2]

Life
Calleja studied Youth and Community Studies in a master's degree program at the University of Malta.[3]
Work
In 2010, Calleja became head of the Malta Gay Rights Movement.[4] In 2014, she became co-chair of the executive board of ILGA Europe, a lesbian and gay group that works for human rights.[5] In 2014 she worked for changes in Danish law.[6][7]
Calleja also works with teaching, drug education, community development, and fundraising.[3] In 2005, she helped write the “School Attendance Improvement” Report.[3]
