Cannae
frazione of Italy
Cannae (now Canne della Battaglia, Italian pronunciation: [kanne della battaʎʎa]) is an ancient village of the Apulia region of south eastern Italy. It is a frazione (civil parish) of the comune (municipality) of Barletta, a former bishopric that is now a Latin Catholic titular see. The famous Battle of Cannae had troops of Carthage win despite being outnumbered by troops of the Roman Republic.
