Alan Young

British actor (1919–2016)

Alan Young (November 19, 1919 – May 19, 2016) was a British-born Canadian-American actor, comedian, radio host and television host. He is best known for his role as Wilbur Post in Mister Ed, and as the voice of Scrooge McDuck in many Disney television shows and animated movies. He won an Emmy Award in 1950.

Young was born on November 19, 1919 in North Shields, Northumberland, England.[1] He was raised in Edinburgh, Scotland. He was married to Mary Anne Grimes from 1941 until they divorced in 1947. Then he was married to Virginia McCurdy from 1948 until they divorced in 1995. With Grimes he had two children and with McCurdy he had two. He was then married to his third wife Mary Chipman from 1996 to 1997.[2]

On May 19, 2016, Young died in Woodland Hills, California at the age of 96.[3]
