Norway, who had lost 4-0 to China PR in the group stage, made an impressive comeback to reach the final. They beat Italy and their historical rivals, Sweden, in the knockout rounds. The United States, on the other hand, remained unbeaten in the competition and defeated Germany 5-2 in the semi-final.
