Elmer Bernstein

Elmer Bernstein (4. mart 1922 – 18. august 2004) je bio američki kompozitor i dirigent, poznat prije svega kao izuzetno plodan autor filmske muzike, pri čemu je najpoznatija i najpopularnija partitura za znameniti vestern The Magnificent Seven. Bernstein je čak 14 puta bio nominiran za Oscar, ali ga je osvojio za Thoroughly Modern Millie 1967. godine. Zbog ljevičarskih uvjerenja se u vrijeme makartističkih progona početkom 1950-ih nakratko našao na hollywoodskoj crnoj listi. Bio je blizak prijatelj i suradnik režisera Johna Landisa. Bernstein, usprkos sličnog prezimena, nije bio u rodu sa svojim kolegom Leonardom Bernsteinom.
