Optical chairacter recogneetion (optical chairacter reader) (OCR) is the mechanical or electronic conversion o eemages o teeped, haundwritten or prented text into machine-encodit text, whither frae a scanned document, a photo o a document, a scene-photo (for example the text on signs an billbuirds in a laundscape photo) or frae subteetle text superimposed on an image (for example frae a telly broadcast).[1]
