Хангейт, Дэвид

Хангейт учился в средней школ Бьюкенена в Трое, штат Миссури, после чего переехал в Северный Техас, чтобы продолжать учёбу в музыкальном колледже в Университете штата.

Дэвид является сыном конгрессмена^[1] Уильяма Л. Хангейта.

Дэвид играл в джазовом ансамбле One O’Clock Lab Band, в том числе выступал на джазовом фестивале в Монтрё в 1970 году^[2].

Хангейт участвовал в записи ряда хитовых альбомов 1970-х годов, в том числе «Silk Degrees» Боза Скаггса и «From the Inside» Элиса Купера.

Дэвид играл на первых четырёх альбомах «Тото», в том числе и «Toto IV», удостоенного множества наград Грэмми.

Хангейт покинул группу вскоре после её выпуска, чтобы начать карьеру сессионного музыканта в Нэшвилле.

Сначала было объявлено, что он уйдет на пенсию после тура 2014 года, но он продолжал гастролировать с Тото до 2015 года, когда было объявлено, что он наконец уйдет из обширных туров^[4][5].

Он также сыграл четыре трека^[6] в четырнадцатом альбоме «Toto».
