Odd Arne Westad
Odd Arne Westad (født 5. januar 1960 i Ålesund) er en norsk historiker som er professor ved Yale University.[4] Hans spesialfelter er blant andre den kalde krigen og nyere østasiatisk historie. Han var tidligere professor ved Harvard University[5], og var tidligere professor ved London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).[6]

Westad studerte ved Universitetet i Oslo og University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Han ble forskningsdirektør ved Det norske Nobelinstitutt og førsteamanuensis i historie ved Universitetet i Oslo i 1991. I 1998 ble han tilknyttet International History Department ved LSE, der han også virket ved LSE Asia Research Centre før han ble avdelingsleder i 2003.[7]
Westad ble medlem av British Academy i 2011.[8] I 2016 ble han valg inn i Det Norske Videnskaps-Akademi i gruppe for historie[9]
Han uttalte i mars 2022 at Russlands invasjon av Ukraina minner om opptakten til første verdenskrig.[10]
