Lincoln MacCauley Alexander, PC CC OOnt CD QC (21 Januar 1922 – 19 October 2012), wis the the 24t Lieutenant Govrenor o Ontario, Canadae frae 1985 til 1991. Alexander wis a Govrenor o the Canadian Unity Cooncil anaw.
Born in Toronto, Ontario, tae Wast Indian immigrants, Lincoln Alexander furst distinguisht hissel in the Ryal Canadian Air Force durin the Seicont Warld War. He graduatit fae Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto in 1953.[1]
In 1968, he wis eleckit tae the Canadian Hoose o Commons as the Hamilton Wast representative fur the Progressive Conservative Pairty o Canadae, becomin Canadae's furst black Member o Pairlament.[2] He haudit the seat fur fower successive elections.

1Until 1909, the office of the minister of Labour was a secondary function of the Postmaster-General of Canada. W.L.M. King was the first to hold the office independently. 2The office of Minister of Employment and Immigration, and Minister of Labour were abolished and the office of Minister of Human Resources Development went in force on July 12, 1996. Under the new provisions, a Minister of Labour may be appointed. However, when no Minister of Labour is appointed, the Minister of Human Resources Development shall exercise the powers and perform the duties and functions of the Minister of Labour. |
