Replacing "1889" alias with "1889a" flag
I note that Image:Flag of Brazil 15-19 November.svg is not used in icon form in any article (which makes sense in that it was only official for four days), so I think the 1889
flag variant label is much more appropriate for use with Image:Flag of Brazil (1889-1960).svg, which was used for 71 years. I will migrate all instances of the 1889a
selector to use the more logical 1889
label instead, and remove the "4 day flag" from this template until it is truly needed. Andrwsc (talk) 20:16, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

Where's the 1889 flag?
This flag (File:Flag of Brazil 15-19 November.svg) should not be ignored. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.13.177.55 (talk) 12:24, 15 April 2017 (UTC)

Problems involving Navy template
- The template is using the national flag instead of the Navy flag.
- The marines variant links to Brazilian Navy instead of Brazilian Marine Corps. 200.171.226.20 (talk) 14:47, 1 June 2018 (UTC)

- @200.171.226.20: It's using the national flag because that's the naval ensign. – Illegitimate Barrister (talk • contribs), 16:53, 9 November 2018 (UTC)
Better late than never, I have raised this at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Brazil#Brazilian Navy - flag/ensign templates. Davidships (talk) 13:26, 18 November 2023 (UTC)

flag alias-1992 = Flag of Brazil (WFB 2000).svg
flag alias-2004 = Flag of Brazil (WFB 2004).svg
flag alias-2007 = Flag of Brazil (WFB 2007).svg
Remove these flags as they are just based on the shades used in pictures in different editions of the CIA World Factbook (you can see if you open the flag image) and not are official or even real changes to the flag used by Brazil, they should not be included and especially not linked to a specific year
These files are not used on any sites except the automatically filled in "non-permanent UN members" on United Nations Security Council Resolutions
Code which should replace current one for these changes to be implemented, including taking into account things like vars. Enter edit mode to get it in indexed form...Altered to use syntaxhighlight - Cabayi

Please create the following template:
Template armed forces link to Brazilian Armed Forces (probably by creating the parameter |link alias-military=
, to result in {armed forces|Brazil}}
)
