Henry Ford Health (formerly the Henry Ford Health System) is an integrated, not-for-profit health care organization in Metro Detroit.[1] The corporate office is at One Ford Place, in Midtown Detroit, Michigan.[4] Henry Ford established the health system in 1915, and it is currently run by a 15-member board of directors.[5][1] Henry Ford Health also owns the health insurance company Health Alliance Plan.[6]

On March 22, 2022, Henry Ford Health announced that they would be changing their name from "Henry Ford Health System", dropping the word "system" from their name in order to put greater emphasis on the word "health" in their name.[7]

On October 18, 2023, Henry Ford Health announced plans that it had signed an agreement to create a joint venture with Ascension Michigan making the joint operations the largest healthcare provider in Metro Detroit.[8][9]

Henry Ford Health directly operates ten emergency departments. All of the hospitals (except for Kingwood) operate an emergency room along with Henry Ford Health medical centers in Dearborn (Fairlane), Grosse Pointe Farms (Grosse Pointe), Plymouth, and Sterling Heights. As well as, a Henry Ford Health Center in Brownstown Charter Township (Brownstown).[10]

Henry Ford Health operates 46 medical centers[11] along with 250+ locations throughout Michigan including five acute care hospitals, two destination facilities for complex cancer and orthopedics and sports medicine care, three behavioral health facilities, primary care and urgent care centers.[12]
