Makushinsky District (Russian: Макушинский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[4] district (raion), one of the twenty-four in Kurgan Oblast, Russia. It is located in the east of the oblast. The area of the district is 3,470 square kilometers (1,340 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the town of Makushino.[1] Population: 18,116 (2010 Russian census);[3] 23,978 (2002 Census);[6] 25,755 (1989 Soviet census).[7] The population of Makushino accounts for 46.0% of the district's total population.[3]
