Mouseion

Musaeum atau Mouseion di Alexandria (bahasa Yunani Kuno: Μουσεῖον τῆς Ἀλεξανδρείας), yang mencakup Perpustakaan Alexandria,^[1] adalah sebuah lembaga yang didirikan oleh Ptolemy I Soter atau mungkin putranya Ptolemy II Philadelphus. Pada awalnya, Musaeum ("Institusi Muses") adalah tempat pembelajaran musik atau syair, sebuah sekolah filsafat dan perpustakaan seperti Akademi Plato, yang juga merupakan gudang teks-teks.
