Diferensiasi planet
Proses pemisahan bagian-bagian dalam suatu objek keplanetan
Dalam ilmu keplanetan, diferensiasi planet atau pembedaan planet adalah proses pemisahan bagian-bagian dalam suatu objek keplanetan sebagai akibat dari ciri fisik dan kimianya; objek yang padat tenggelam ke pusat, sementara bahan yang kurang padat naik ke permukaan. Proses tersebut biasanya menghasilkan inti dan mantel. Kadang-kadang kerak yang secara kimiawi berbeda terbentuk di atas mantel. Proses diferensiasi planet telah terjadi di planet-planet, planet katai, asteroid 4 Vesta, dan satelit alami seperti Bulan.
