John Chester Brooks Morris (16 Februari 1901 – 11 September 1970) adalah aktor panggung, film, radio, dan televisi berkebangsaan Amerika Serikat. Dia telah bermain di beberapa film prestisius di awal kariernya, dan dinominasikan di ajang penghargaan Academy Award. Chester Morris adalah aktor yang paling dikenang yang pernah berperan sebagai Boston Blackie, seorang penjahat yang menjadi detektif, dalama criminal-turned-detective, dalam serial film Blackie dasawarsa 1940-an.

Kehidupan awal

Chester Morris yang memiliki nama asli John Chester Brooks Morris lahir di New York City, salah satu putera dari empat bersaudara dari aktor Teater Broadway William Morris dan komedian panggung Etta Hawkins.^[1] Morris keluar dari sekolah dan mengawali kariernya di Teater Broadway pada usia 15 tahun, bermain dalam karya Lionel Barrymore berjudul The Copperhead.^[2] Dia mengawali debutnya di ranah perfilman melalui film bisu bergenre drama komedi An Amateur Orphan (1917).^[3]
