Liste des localités désignées d'Alberta

Une localité désignée est un type de communauté ou de région démographique identifiée par Statistique Canada à des fins statistiques^[1]. Il s'agit habituellement d'une petite collectivité qui ne satisfait pas aux critères utilisés pour définir les municipalités incorporées ou des centres de population de Statistique Canada (zones avec une population d'au moins 1 000 habitants et pas moins de 400 habitants au kilomètre carré)^[2].

Les localités désignées sont établies par les provinces et les territoires, en collaboration avec Statistique Canada afin de fournir des données pour les régions inframunicipales^[2]. Elles existent depuis 1996^[2].

Selon le recensement du Canada de 2011, l'Alberta comptait 261 localités désignées^[3] avec une population cumulée de 46 510 habitants, la plus peuplée est Wabasca avec une population de 1 302 habitants^[4].
