Tapahtumia

Ruotsin ensimmäinen ruotsinkielinen ammattiteatterin esitys Den Svenska Sprätthöken Tukholman Bollhuset-talossa. Näytelmän kirjoitti Carl Gyllenborg.
Göttingenin Georg-August-yliopisto perustettiin.
Ranskalaiset Henri-Louis Duhamel du Monceau ja Georges-Louis Leclerc de Buffon julkaisivat ensimmäisen tieteellisen teoksen puiden vuosirenkaista.^[1]
