The Normans (Norman: Normaunds; French: Normands; Latin: Nortmanni/Normanni) were a population that arose in the medieval Duchy of Normandy from the intermingling between Norse Viking settlers and indigenous West Franks and Gallo-Romans. They would go on to conquer the British Isles.
Scope
Norman history taskforce is a taskforce of WikiProject European history dedicated to the history of the Norman peoples of France, England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
