Copyright investigations (manual article tagging)
I was mistaken in filing this as copyvio. The text in question has been released as part of a fan media pack under a rather ambiguous licence saying "Get episode guides, character bios, interviews and any production notes to help you write info on the show". This seems to be a licence to reuse their text although I still urge some caution. --DanielRigal (talk) 19:51, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
    • This is filed under the wrong date, per the existing article's tag as of 5 September.
    • This may be overreach, without intermediate remedies applied or discussed. See article Talk:List of Shaun the Sheep episodes for quite old explicit permission granted. HIT Entertainment, as a publicity firm, directly quotes Aardman episode descriptions, as do many, many other websites, under the aegis of press release material. If copyvio of a press release is the issue here, requesting more careful paraphrasing, or quoting with citations, would have been the appropriate action.
    • This may be moot, as discussion is now progressing in Talk. --Lexein (talk) 19:47, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I am not sure how it came to be filed under the wrong day. The template gave me a link and said to add it there and I followed it assuming it to be correct. Perhaps this is a problem in the template. --DanielRigal (talk) 19:53, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The template might have needed a subst? That's an odd one. Thanks for the heads-up, and for rescinding. Talk:List of Shaun the Sheep episodes. --Lexein (talk) 20:18, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Y Seems this one has been resolved. :) In terms of the timestamp, however, I believe all is in order there. The copyvio template was first placed here, 19:37, 4 September 2010. There may be some confusion in that it was reinstated on the 5th. I will admit to some concern when first reading that it had resolved in that we can only accept content licensed compatibly with CC-By-SA, which requires explicit permission of modification, but the handling of the material at the actual page is all in order, with proper paraphrasing and quotation marks as far as I see on cursory review. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:53, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
