Sheilas' Wheels is a brand of car insurance for women. The name Sheilas' (including the apostrophe) comes from the Australian expression of using a woman's name to refer to all women 1. The Sheilas' Wheels TV advert is well recognised in the UK for the song and the girls in a pink open-top car.
The car insurance is offered to women-only because the company claims women are lower risk drivers than men 2.
Sheilas' Wheels is a division of esure, however esure also provides car insurance for men as well (but not for men-only).
Ad astra per aspera means 'to the stars through difficulties' and is the state motto of Kansas ( USA ).
"TO the stars through stars" means figuratively "Greatness is only achieved by surmounting problems."
Virgil wrote in _Aeneid_ Book 9:
Macte nova virtute, sic itur ad astra.(Blessings on your young courage, boy; that's the way to the stars.)
The motto of the Mulvany family "Per ardua ad astra" (Through struggles to the stars) has become that of the Royal Air Force in 1913.
The Royal Air Force did not exist in 1913 - its predessor was the Royal Flying Corps (RFC).
The following extract is taken from the Royal Air Force Website.
"The Royal Air Force Motto"Per Ardua ad Astra"
As far as can be ascertained, the motto of the Royal Air Force dates back to 1912 and the formation of the Royal Flying Corps (RFC). The first Commanding Officer of the RFC (Military Wing) was Colonel Frederick Sykes. He asked his officers to come up with a motto for the new service; one which would produce a strong esprit de corps.
Shortly after this, two junior officers were walking from the Officers' Mess at Farnborough to Cody's Shed on Laffan Plain. As they walked, they discussed the problem of the motto and one of them, JS Yule, mentioned the phrase "Sicictar ad Astra", from the Virgilian texts. He then expanded on this with the phrase "Per Ardua ad Astra", which he translated as, "Through Struggles to the Stars". Colonel Sykes approved of this as the motto and forwarded it to the War Office. It was then submitted to the King, who approved its adoption.
The question of where this motto had come from can be answered by he fact that Yule had read it in a book called "People of the Mist" by Sir Henry Rider Haggard. In the first chapter was the passage, "To his right were two stately gates of iron fantastically wrought, supported by stone pillars on whose summit stood griffins of black marble embracing coats of arms and banners inscribed with the device 'Per Ardua ad Astra'".
As to where Sir Rider Haggard obtained this phrase is still unclear although it is possible that it originated from the Irish family of Mulway who had used it as their family motto for hundreds of years and translated it as "Through Struggles to the Stars"."

The moose book is a great book supposedly written by John Kupcha. It was originally intended to be a joke but would go on to be an urban legend in the city of Marlton, NJ. Only a few people claim to know where it is but all agree that reading these secret texts can unlock secrets unknown to the world. Myth, this may be, but it is certain that there is a certain following around this legend in Marlton, which may even extend to some parts of Philadelphia, PA. While it is unknown whether this text will ever be verified, it is certain that the myth will be recited for many generations to come.

After David Blaine made levitating one of the most popular street magic illusion, there have been various methods developed. Some require visible gimmicks like the Elevator while others can be done impromtu with nothing to be found or seen. The most jaw dropping levitation around is done by Cris Angle. He turns his back to the audience then can even levitate up onto stairs! Although the demonstrations on his show might show spectators in front of him, do not be fooled! These people have to be either stooges or be blind. Although the method is clever, like many magic tricks the "add" is misleading. In the Levitation that David Blaine performs (known as the Balducci levitation - originated by Ed Balducci),you can not be surrounded and have to watch your angles very closely. Even though the spectator sees two legs together from behind, one is a fake leg. He is actually balancing on his other leg in front. From behind, it looks totally awesome. is the idea really his? No, he has taken an illusion from years ago and brought it to the new age! To learn exactly how to make the special somethings to make this possible, you will have to purchase his DVD like I did. Well worth the investment. If you are looking for an economical method with far superior angles, check out ZERO Gravity. Dollar for Dollar it very well might be the best levitation method out there!

Jeff Parets is one of the best known progressive rock DJ's in the Western USA.
Jeff Parets grew up in the New York suburb of Tenafly, New Jersey where he enjoyed listening to the progressive rock of stations such as WNEW-FM.
Jeff’s attended the University of Virginia in Charlottesville where he started out at the Top 40 WUVA-AM. As a sophomore, he got the opportunity to host a radio show on the University's free-form WTJU-FM, where he was able to play his own choice of album tracks. Jeff spent his junior year in France, studying at the Sorbonne in Paris.
After getting his B.A. from U.Va., Jeff made his way out to Phoenix and landed his first professional radio job with KTAR-AM as the overnight sports and weather guy. Soon after, he moved next door to KBBC-FM, and began a weekly new-album review hour, "LP Corner." In 1979, Jeff became Music Director of KIOG-FM/KQXE-AM (K-104, "The Alternative"). Just one year later, new owners changed the progressive format, and despite thousands of letters and petitions protesting the change, K-104 was disbanded.
In 1981, Jeff discovered the next home of progressive radio in Phoenix. At the time, KSTM was an obscure 3000 watt station licensed to Apache Junction, Arizona playing automated adult contemporary music. Jeff approached the station's owners about trying a weekend progressive rock program, to attract new listeners and sponsors. So at midnight on June 7, 1981 Phoenix-area listeners were able to hear the song "Wing and a Prayer" by the British group Camel and progressive radio was back in the Phoenix area.
On August 5, 1981 The Storm at 107 was born. Jeff Parets was named Program Director/Music Director, and hosted evenings on KSTM, before eventually moving to mid-days. The station slowly built a following, and by 1985 The Storm had become the number one station in the Phoenix market for Men 25-34. The Storm ended on June 14, 1987 when owners decided to change the station to a Hispanic format to combine with their existing Spanish AM.
That summer, Jeff joined KEYX-FM (100.3 FM) an alternative rock station licensed to Globe, Arizona. He hosted a free-form afternoon show until the rock format was replaced by new age and became KGRX-FM. Ever the adventurous sort, Jeff expanded his musical knowledge into that realm, and as Music Director he hosted the weekly new age show, "Atmospheres". But once again, the fickle world of commercial radio brought an end to the station's live new age programming, and Jeff Parets began looking for new horizons.
In 1989, Jeff was hired as Music Director at KDKB (93.3 FM) and host of the album alternative show "Sunday Night Spectrum." Two years later, he moved over to KJZZ (91.5 FM) to host a daily contemporary jazz show and the new age program "Night Moods."
When KJZZ shifted to a news-talk format in the mid-90’s, Jeff took on reporting duties and became the mid-day news anchor and Features Producer for the NPR affiliate. Jeff won eight broadcast journalism awards in just three years, including the only national first place award in the station's 50-year history for his radio feature on One Foot in the Grave, a senior citizen punk-rock group.
Jeff created the concept for The Acoustic Storm in the late 90's, using the original Storm as a blueprint: "a radio program that plays the finest acoustic-rock." In October 1998, The Acoustic Storm swept into the Phoenix area on KSLX (100.7 FM). Today, the Acoustic Storm can be heard on 32 radio stations around the USA.

Stalin's Jewish ethnicity is extensively analyzed and documented in the article cited below. Stalin is often referred to as being an ethnic "Georgian". Based on the research cited, he was a Georgian Jew. Why does it matter whether he was an ethnic Jew or not? Because that would further document that the overthrow of Russia's Provisional Government was almost completely a Jewish undertaking. At the October 10, 1917, meeting of the 12 leaders of the Central Committee of the Bolshevik Party, the vote to attempt to overthrow the Government was 10 to 2. Chief employers include Agrium Liquid Fertilizer, which operates a manufacturing plant, and the Husky Oil Plant.
Standard is best known in Alberta for the tragic and well-publicized abduction and murder of one of its residents, 15-year old Kelly Cook, in 1981. The Grade 10 student regularly babysat for townsfolk, and on the morning of April 22, she received a phone call from a man who identified himself as Bill Christensen. He asked her to babysit for him that evening. She agreed, and early that evening, a car pulled up in front of the house where she lived with her parents and siblings. The driver did not leave his car, and Kelly walked out of her house and climbed into the automobile, which promptly drove off. A few hours later, her anxious parents, concerned that Kelly had not called or returned home, called the RCMP. A massive local search was launched but yielded no clues. Two months after her abduction, on June 28, her badly decomposed body was discovered in Chin Lakes, southeast of her hometown of Standard. Despite the publicity this murder case generated, and a $100,000 reward offered by the Village of Standard for information leading to the arrest of Kelly's killer, the case still has not been solved. It may go down as one of the greatest unsolved murder cases in Alberta's history.

Whitehall is a small area to the east of Bristol. It is boardered by St. George, Speedwell, Greenbank and Croft End. Whitehall is a nice place to live with lots of green space e.g St. George Park around it, although it is predominantly urban. Whitehall is named after one of the founders of the Bristol Tramways, George White. When it was built Whitehall was put on the site of a large market garden. It was said by many of the original residents that the rubarb came up through the floorboards of the new houses. SourcesSource Edward Bond former resident. |

Between the fifth and twelfth centuries, after the collapse of the Roman empire but before the spread of Christianity to Western Europe, Ireland was a primitive country, run by chiefs who traded with cattle and followed what was left of the druidic teachings. The "old gods," who supposedly called for human sacrifice and spoke to special mortals through a black mist, were openly worshipped. Not until the arrival of Saint Patrick did Ireland wholeheartedly convert to the devout Catholicism it is known for today. The High King ruled over the country, and smaller chiefs controlled their own small farms and villages. One such village, called Dubh Linn in the ancient Irish tongue, is considered to have been around the modern location of the capital city Dublin. The country was divided into four general provinces: the northern quarter, Leinster; the northwestern one, Connacht; the eastern, Ulster; and the southeastern, Munster.

Claire Noonan is a girl that I know. She sure has lots of spunk, boy oh boy. She's always doing lots of hilarious things. There was this one time, well I guess you'd have to be there. I guess you just have to know her. But she's lovely, even though she seems to try to fit herself into the smallest spaces available, and jerks her head all around. Nice girl.
