@Doug Weller Extend-protect the article affected for a year and I'll forgive you (rfpp turned me down). Or add your view in the current discussion at [1]. ;-) Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 18:08, 24 April 2024 (UTC)
Let me know if disruptive editing occurs again or if you suspect a sock. I’d rather wait until that given you were turned down. I probably would have protected. Doug Weller talk 20:25, 24 April 2024 (UTC)
@Doug Weller, hi again. Per current ongoings on that article and talkpage, I'd like extended protection, or the very WP:ADVOCACY-editor page-blocked or just blocked. If you feel like casting an admin eye on this, please do, IMO we're absolutely in disruptive territory. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 18:53, 26 April 2024 (UTC)
I might fully protect the article if problems continue. We rarely protect talk pages and I don’t see IP disruption. Doug Weller talk 19:31, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
@Doug Weller If you feel like it, see if there's a disruptive editor editing the article and debating everybody at Talk:Simon_Ekpa#Editwar_on_WP:LEAD_"self-declared"_again. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 21:51, 5 May 2024 (UTC)
That might actually have sorted itself out, or maybe people just went to sleep. Fingers crossed. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 04:56, 6 May 2024 (UTC)
Hopefully it has. Doug Weller talk 08:02, 6 May 2024 (UTC)

Attention please

My attention has been drawn to your use of Wikipedia:Advocacy editor to qualify and probably blackmail me. Whether your intention is to scare me away or from Wikipedia or not, it is left with your conscience.

I have documented these most visible cases for future purposes and reference. 1. 2. 3. 4.

Your attitude have indicated that you have made up your mind to bully me on Wikipedia. I may nevertheless be wrong but attitudes suggests that.

I don't know how you came about these frivolous accusations and assertions of yours of me being a WP:ADVOCACY editor. I wish not to make this a case but you continue to push me. I consider it offensive whenever you isolate me with that term. What prompted me to be added in that category of Wikipedia editors? What are your evidences if you are called up on Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents? I mean, how did I fall into a Wikipedia:Advocacy editor? It is just like me calling you Wikipedia:Conflict of interest editor out of emotions. I don't wish for this notice to you to be long until I hear your reply. Thanks. 10:28, 28 April 2024 (UTC) Fugabus (talk) 10:28, 28 April 2024 (UTC)

You know about WP:SPA already, and that is part of it. This [2] and this [3] is another part, but of course, inconclusive. I consider you a WP:ADVOCACY editor based on your edit history. I'm not the only one:[4] Do you think "promote a person's or organization's beliefs or agendas" is a reasonable view of your edits? ANI is rarely pleasant, but constructive results can come of it.
Ping @DougWeller@Bbb23@EvergreenFir@LegalSmeagolian if you wish to comment. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 10:47, 28 April 2024 (UTC)
Btw, your diffs 3 & 4 seems to be about the same comment. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 10:57, 28 April 2024 (UTC)
And again, make an effort when you add refs [5] per WP:BAREURL, please. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 11:31, 28 April 2024 (UTC)
And about this edit [6] you made on my talkpage, see WP:REDACT. If you want to strike through your statement, there is instruction in that link on how to do that. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 14:30, 28 April 2024 (UTC)
All my edits are supported by RS and not my personal opinions. I don't know why you have chosen to bite me. I edit just like you do. We are all Wikimedians and you were once new like me, if you were scared away like you do to me, would you stay up to this 15 years? Always correct me and not bite me. I wholeheartedly appreciate your correction on the Wikipedia:Bare URLs and I applied it here.
My attention has been drawn to the socking trends and I believe that's the reason for your suspicious attitude. All editors and Administrators you pinged are welcomed to monitor me and do the needful when necessary and again please. Your good work in keeping Wikipedia safe is seen. I sincerely apologize for the editing mistake made while trying to reply. You may wish to check this out on WP:BLP Noticeboard Thanks
Sincerely,
Fugabus (talk) 14:35, 28 April 2024 (UTC)
Very well. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 14:39, 28 April 2024 (UTC)
Fugabus with all due respect, if this is still about the Biafra Prime Minister, I think it is best to drop your opposition to the inclusion of "self-elected" as consensus suggests that it should be included. Until something changes I think there is a WP:SNOW chance of it being changed, so it is best to probably focus on other things on this site if possible. LegalSmeagolian (talk) 01:03, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
@LegalSmeagolian
Worry less about our argument Mentor. We resolved it on addition of "Prime Minister" but still have problems with having full access to Kuvalehti report which I have subscribed to. We will resolve also the issue of self-declared as well with time. «fjuːgəbʌs» (talk) 00:37, 2 May 2024 (UTC)

Signature

Have you ever thought of adding Ekpa's signature to his article page? How do you add it? There are publicly available signatures of him. IMO, thought it should be there because other notable pages like Donald Trump, Rihanna, Barack Obama has them. Can there be any copyright issues there? Fugabus (talk) 00:22, 2 May 2024 (UTC)

Never tried adding a signature, some guidance at Wikipedia:Signatures of living persons. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 04:25, 2 May 2024 (UTC)
I think I found this his signature on the press release on Yle per what Wikipedia:Signatures of living persons says and here from his X directly. I will look into how other notable pages got theirs added. «fjuːgəbʌs» (talk) 15:14, 2 May 2024 (UTC)

WikiProject:Biafra

I intend to propose Wikipedia:WikiProject Biafra on Wikipedia:WikiProject to enable interested editors like you to expand the scope collaboratively. I know you are of interest per your edits on Biafra stuffs like Simon EkpaBest, «fjuːgəbʌs» (talk) 18:56, 4 May 2024 (UTC)

Khalil Kain Bio

Please stop removing edits from Khalil’s page. These are edits being made by his family. For too many years now these edits have been incorrect especially relating to his family life. Leave us be. Thank you. 73.80.66.109 (talk) 23:13, 7 May 2024 (UTC)

Then read WP:COI and WP:BLP and stop editing the article directly, WP is not your social media. You can suggest changes at Talk:Khalil Kain, with WP:RS that supports them. If it helps, one of the reasons WP demands cited sources for facts about living people, is that while you say "made by his family", there is no easy way for people to know if that's right or if you're here to prank him. So, read the policies, stop editing the article and discuss at the article talkpage. Note that "names of children" will probably not be included per WP:BLPNAME, but sources matter. "Number of children" may be ok, but again, decent source needed. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 05:10, 8 May 2024 (UTC)

Madam La Compt

I feel guilty saying I was going to use one CITESTYLE in my next article (Madam La Compt), but it's turned into a crazy multi-generalization biography and I know that there are going to be a lot of rps. Just adding in the rps for two books I have in there now - that I just realized are going to need a lot of rps - it going to look like a pretty field of butterflies (that's what each rp looks like to me). Anyway, I am going the sfn route for this one, but I learned with Lillie Rosa Minoka-Hill that it looks much better with one style when there aren't too many rps. Sorry.–CaroleHenson (talk) 18:01, 18 May 2024 (UTC)

Question from Benji Sherman (18:30, 20 May 2024)

Question from KyleLGaming1993 (05:57, 12 June 2024)

so i was editing a List of Deadliest Catch episodes on the wiki to update a lot of info on them but I see that Neovu79 was also edint some stuff as well but I don't know what they were trying to edit and im not sure how I can with very easy looking around talk to them to find out as I never really use wiki to talk on before at all much less edit anything on here but all im wanting to know is based on there 2 edits what they were editing and changing cause I was working on the sessions 10 - 19 and I seen he had made or tried to make changes to the 20 one but I already did that one as well .. im just not sure how to ask them what they worked on any idea? --KyleLGaming1993 (talk) 05:57, 12 June 2024 (UTC)

@KyleLGaming1993 Hi! It would be easier to understand your message if you used (more) punctuation, but then, I mostly edit on a laptop. This edit [7] you did doesn't seem to have done what you intended per your edit summary (but it's good that you use edit summaries when you edit articles, it helps others understand what you are doing), so it's not strange someone reverted it. I know nothing about the TV-series, so I have no opinion on what should go into it.
You can talk to Neovu79 at User talk:Neovu79. The place to discuss the series is Talk:Deadliest Catch, but you never know if people are watching, and remember that people are in different time-zones, sleep etc. A more general place where interested people may hang out is Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Television. Hope this helps some. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 06:48, 12 June 2024 (UTC)

Samuel

Some time ago you suggested I should watch The Story of David. I did. It's taken a while for me to make a comprehensive review/reply, the main reason being that the story of the young 'Samuel in the Temple' is my favourite story ever from that book. "Samuel. Samuel!" "What is it, master? Why did you call me?" "I didn't call you. Go back to sleep." Etc. Thus Eli. But in the film Shmuel is portrayed as anointing David in his sleep, making him king by a subterfuge, without his acceptance or acknowledgement. Which in my view is the ultimate crime. Is the case? I don't know or care, but that film shattered my last remaining childhood link to my parents' religion. Which I suppose is good, but it takes time. MinorProphet (talk) 16:02, 17 June 2024 (UTC)

Canvassing discussion - using AI to summarise

Hi @Gråbergs Gråa Sång, you look like you work in the closures area, or may simply be interested in this! you're the only person i've sent this to so far. We could potentially start using AI to assist with closures, you've likely seen AI expanding into various areas of life. For example as a mini-trial (or better term) I was thinking of a collapsible summary at the start of the canvassing discussion, with something like "Hi all, i see you've been waiting for a closure of for a week here's a gpt4o summary, while you're waiting, be warned it may contain hallucinations: 'Input: summarise this discussion please: https://www.search.com.vn/wiki/en/Wikipedia:Village_pump_(policy)#Notifying_Wikiprojects_and_WP:CANVASS

Output: The discussion on the Wikipedia Village Pump (policy) page centers around whether notifying WikiProjects about relevant discussions constitutes inappropriate canvassing. Opinions vary, with some editors arguing that notifying relevant WikiProjects helps improve article quality by involving interested editors, while others caution against biased canvassing that could skew discussions. The consensus leans towards allowing notifications, provided they are neutral and not intended to influence outcomes unduly. The need for clear guidelines on appropriate notifications is emphasized to prevent misuse while encouraging collaborative improvement of articles.'

Actual closures still need close human supervision, but we can start using AI to automate elements of the process e.g. a timely first draft?"

What do you think? Hope editing going well, Tom B (talk) 18:55, 19 June 2024 (UTC)

@Tpbradbury, hello! Per stuff like [8][9] my default assumption is that using AI in the WP-context is probably evil.
That said, this sounds like an interesting experiment. I think editors would be interested in a way that could speed up rfcl, IF (<- BIG if). Consider taking this to Wikipedia:Village pump (idea lab), with an appnote at Wikipedia talk:Closure requests. Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard#RFC:_The_Anti-Defamation_League could be another "test-case" and you could perhaps show a couple of "this is what the AI would have said" examples of closed cases. A few: [10][11][12]. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 20:24, 19 June 2024 (UTC)
thanks for response, yes i was concerned some people are currently fearful of AI. I've done a few examples of skeleton article structures by AI, on some talkpages, and didn't get a massive response! i might leave it for a bit then go to idea lab, like you say. thanks again, Tom B (talk) 20:45, 19 June 2024 (UTC)
This could be interesting in the afd-area as well. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 20:32, 19 June 2024 (UTC)

FYI ping to The Wordsmith in case reading long discussions [13] makes you want to try something new, though perhaps a little controversial. And thanks for taking on that mega-thing. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 08:24, 20 June 2024 (UTC)

Thanks for the ping. It's an interesting idea, but I can't trust AI enough yet especially for something so important. It might be an interesting idea to analyze certain decisions after they've already been closed though. The WordsmithTalk to me 22:23, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
thank you, true. also it's not a case of using AI unsupervised ever. It's about using it to assist, it always requires close supervision given hallucinations, Tom B (talk) 08:13, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
@Tpbradbury@The Wordsmith, if you're interested, I came across this [14] which I think is more ai-use. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 07:08, 3 July 2024 (UTC)

Kenya finance bill protests

Interested? Wår (talk) 06:49, 21 June 2024 (UTC)

My knee-jerk reaction is WP:SUSTAINED. Just because something is in the news now doesn't necessarily mean there should be a WP-article on it now. Glad Midsommar! Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 08:12, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
How do you understand Current event in Wikipedia term? Wår (talk) 08:50, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
Something ongoing that started fairly recently, like Anti-Defamation_League#Wikipedia_determination_of_unreliability? I don't think people generally refer to Israeli–Palestinian conflict as a current event. If a WP-article says "this is a current event", it's probably written wrong per MOS:CURRENT. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 09:01, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
Ok. That's in your own opinion. Thank you for your attention. Wår (talk) 09:02, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
