On the edit you just reverted at Ibrahim_Salah

The IP editor who made the reverted is currently repeatedly vandalizing the page and adding personal attacks on other users. Is there any way to contain the situation until AIV steps in?MopSeeker FoxThree! 00:51, 3 August 2015 (UTC)

Never mind, the editor has been blocked.MopSeeker FoxThree! 00:52, 3 August 2015 (UTC)

Reference errors on 7 August

Hello, I'm ReferenceBot. I have automatically detected that an edit performed by you may have introduced errors in referencing. It is as follows:

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, ReferenceBot (talk) 00:16, 8 August 2015 (UTC)

Bodo League massacre

Hi, I was the one who added that information from Tirman's book. The point seems clear to me: the League was for re-educating leftists, but since most of them had already fled and the police had quota to fill, most members were non-political. It literally says so in the source.

But somebody put "clarification needed" behind it and I figured that people who are skeptical about this will be put off and think that maybe it's communist propaganda or something and will leave the page instead of reading further. Since it was my information in the first place I figured I could remove it to make the page tidier.

Discussion with Ivain

Greetings, GeneralizationsAreBad. (Although, to be consistent, would not one who holds as you do, call him/herself "It would seem that among the examples that are most typical, the use of generalizations can, at times, leave a great deal to be desired" . . . ? But then, it's your handle; you know best.)

I believe you assisted some days ago with a complaint I sent to Wikipedia High Command. And, as I read the history of the page in question, it looks as if you had to go through a couple of revert skirmishes, my fear and loathing for which and lack of time for which are precisely why I haven't done any wiki'ing at all since the Bush administration. Well, great appreciation to you for taking this on. Thank you.

BTW, like you, I am a descendant of WWII combat veteran. Actually, come to think of it, that's not quite true: my late father; my father-in-law, and his younger brother; and my brother's late father-in-law (decorated hero, but I forget which medal) all served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, but my father was the only one of these who didn't see combat; the Navy immediately sent him to MIT for awhile, and then had him training other guys to use radar equipment, a technology then in its infancy. To finish off the litany, my mother's much younger brother served in the USAF during the Korean conflict, and my mother's sister's husband, a Navy pilot, went down off one of our carriers during the early days of the VietNam War.

Thank you very much again.

Ivain (talk) 14:54, 18 August 2015 (UTC)

Hello and thank you for your reply which was much appreciated. Cool that your ancestor was a medic. Those guys did such heroic work. I'm not completely up on the field of military medicine, but from what I've read, many of the major (and minor) surgical and medical advances we enjoy today got their start in military medical/surgical settings. And that includes, I believe, emergency first response care. Up until the 1950s or so, when someone needed an ambulance, guys would be dispatched who had a background in furniture moving, truck driving, shipyard working, etc., and would pull up in what was essentially a hearse with a new paint job, put the injured person or persons on a stretcher, and off they would go to the hospital. If you've ever really needed on-the-scene, fully equipped, emergency medical attention, you'd know how bad it would be to get the white Caddy and the guys in the white coats instead.

Thanks again. And the article you helped with was Bigotry. Ivain (talk) 20:20, 18 August 2015 (UTC)

(Charleston Shooting)

You deleted a comment I added about churches contributing to the relief efforts for the churches burned by arson after the attack. The referenced article in The Guardian mentions that dozens of religious organizations have contributed, including Islamic and Jewish faith communities. In addition, the article says that some pastors are surprised that these two groups are among the groups contributing. By implication churches have contributed.

On a national level, as reported by CNN, an effort led by Christ Church Cathedral (episcopal) out of St. Louis,MO has raised over $550,000. Information can be found here. https://cccathedralstl.dntly.com/campaign/2571#/

The statement that Jewish groups and Islamic groups have contributed money without the factually true statement that Christian churches have as well is a distortion by omission. Though noteworthy that Jewish and Islamic groups have been among the contributors, in an encyclopedic entry, the largest donor -- Christian churches -- should be noted.

In addition to the documented effort by Christ Church Cathedral, I personally know of three churches in my neighborhood that sent $10,000 to the three churches destroyed by arson.

My insertion of the clause, in addition to contributions from Christian churches, I attempted to remove the editorial slight and make the article more fact-based. You requested documentation, which I have provided here.

I do not normally edit Wiki articles. I attempted again today and was unable to get the reference citation to list properly, so I removed it.

I think a statement acknowledging that Christians, Jews and Muslims have all participated in relief efforts would more accurately describe what has been the religious community's response. Otherwise, the article appears to have an editorial agenda rather than an encyclopedic function.

Game of War

My posts are of an ubiased nature. They are purely factual based posts. insidegameofwar.com It is informational to the company and game, all points are valid and not a biased point of view. The cost to play is in the thousands for end game, material gaining and ability of play. Anyone who plays this game will tell you that, also if you do any research on the game play you will find that. If you feel you need to remove it, that is your choice. i will re-add it daily as it is information the public should know about the game. It doesn't matter if YOU think the information is not constructive to your view points, unless you've done the research or played the game first hand then you have no comment to make. So stop. This is a war you won't win. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.97.224.100 (talk) 17:58, 1 October 2015 (UTC)

Time to Reflect on Deleted Comments?

And did anyone listen to some nice and relaxing music before deleting the Wishin' and Hopin' comment? If so, did they reflect on whether the deleted statement was any more un-Wikipedian that the neo-conned remark it related to? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.96.103.25 (talk) 20:34, 14 October 2015 (UTC)

It's still there, just hatted. As much as I'd love to start a page on Wikipedia just devoted to criticizing political pundits, I'm afraid the article talk pages just aren't the place for it. Generalizations to be avoided

In General, is not the idea that all "GeneralizationsAreBad" something of an over-generalization? For without simple-minded generalizations, most of the press go out-of-business. Hello GABCould you please remove the critics section from High Fantasy? The other RPG sections do not have a critics section to define their work.
