Hi, the edits were over 2 years ago now, but I noticed that you added several inaccurate/fictitious Australian (ARIA) certifications for albums on the Hunters & Collectors discography page in April 2014. I have now removed any ARIA certifications listed on this article where there is no known reliable source, but several of the certifications you added also seem highly improbable (e.g. a gold accreditation for album peaking at #89 in 1984). Added to that, ARIA certification levels were actually higher then (100k for platinum, 50k for gold) than they are now/have been since 1989. Please do not add certifications to discography articles unless you can provide a reliable reference for these. Thank you.Nqr9 (talk) 02:00, 22 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This article does not establish the subject as being WP:NOTABLE. The sources, of which there are several, are predominately for the album Alibis and Other Lies and not the single itself; by this logic (or lack of), articles could be made for each and any of the album's tracks that are reviewed in the reviews written for Alibis and Other Lies, which is not how independent notability works as far as I understand it (i.e. the single must be the primary subject of the review). Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Kantalai a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. obi2canibetalk contr 11:21, 4 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. As an experienced editor you should know how to rename articles by now. If you have copy pasted other articles please correct your mistake by requesting history merges. By copy pasting you are showing disrespect to editors of the old article because you are hiding their contributions.obi2canibetalk contr 11:28, 4 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Lolly Gobble Bliss Bomb.jpeg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

Just see how my userpage looks like now. You made a translation tool and I tried a bit by translating an article from frwiki and my userpage now looks like vandalized. If you are treating a ten year experienced Wikipedian for not adding references, when an article is translated, this way, I think about the fate of newbies in enwiki. Further I don't bother you keep it or delete the article translated from frwiki, it has wikidata links, which will eventually be auto-linked if you have faith in Wikidata, in not-so-far future, not interested even to edit enwiki any more.Thank you.--Vinayaraj (talk) 01:33, 28 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I am a bit puzzled by your comment on Mohan Niranjith Burhan that he may not meet notability criteria. If a topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject is that not sufficient? It has received coverage in Seychelles newspapers. I woulld value your comments on how this subject deviates from notability criteria? Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:34, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for partipating Wikipedia Asian Month last year, and I hope you enjoy it. Last year, more than 7,000 articles contribute to Wikipedia in 43 languages in Wikipedia Asian Month, making us one of the largest event on Wikipedia. We will organize this event again in upcoming November, and would like to invite you join us again.
This year, we are lowering down the standards that you only need to create 4 (Four) articles to receive a postcard (new design), and articles only need to be more than 3,000 bytes and 300 words. We are also improving our postcard sending process, e.g. making the postcards right now, and collecting the address after the event ends without waiting other languges.
Wikipedians who create the most articles on each Wikipedia will be honored as "Wikipedia Asian Ambassadors". We will send you both digital copy, and a paper copy of the Ambassador certificate.
Thank you for considering! --AddisWang (talk)

Good article! On the 10,000 series, only Oceania and Australia left to start. I suspect that 10,000 would be too much for Oceania. Would a 5000 Challenge for Oceania and 2500 for Australia feeding into it be reasonable? Let me know what you think, thanks. Or shall I just make it 10,000 anyway as a long term challenge?♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:25, 1 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Dan arndt. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, Wikipedia:WikiProject Oceania/The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Australia/The 5000 Challenge are up and running based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge which has currently produced over 2300 article improvements and creations. The Australia challenge would feed into the wider region one and potentially New Zealand could have a smaller challenge too. The main goal is content improvement, tackling stale old stubs and important content and improving sourcing/making more consistent but new articles are also welcome if sourced. I understand that this is a big goal for regular editors, especially being summertime where you are, but if you'd like to see large scale quality improvements happening for Oceania and Australia like The Africa Destubathon, which has produced over 1700 articles in 5 weeks, sign up on the page. The idea will be an ongoing national editathon/challenge for the region but fuelled by a series of contests to really get articles on every province and subject mass improved. The Africa contest scaled worldwide would naturally provide great benefits to Oceania countries, particularly Australia and attract new editors. I would like some support from existing editors here to get the Challenges off to a start with some articles to make doing a Destubathon worthwhile and potentially bring about hundreds of improvements in a few weeks through a contest! Cheers.♦ --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 02:12, 24 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. When using certain templates (such as welcome templates and user warnings) on talk pages, as you did to User talk:14.140.179.94, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:uw-test1}} instead of {{uw-test1}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template. Thank you. McGeddon (talk) 11:31, 2 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Dan, I'm not sure if you remember me, my previous account a number of years ago was User:Stevezimmy. We were involved in multiple AfD discussions in a very small genre of acts and edited a lot of common articles. I since lost access to that Wiki account and until relatively recently had made all my edits just on IP's. Not to canvas, as ultimately I believe the article stands for itself, but I am currently involved in an AfD and I believe the subject is someone you will be familiar with given your involvement in Australian Music. The other editors, bar Duffbeerforme - who we have both been in conflict with previously, will likely be unaware of the publications and acts involved. If you could please have a look at the AfD for Luke Girgis and provide your thoughts one way or another that would be great. Hope you're well, it's great to see you're still contributing strongly to Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Justthemusic (talk • contribs) 07:58, 1 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Dan arndt I saw your message but, when you tell the word 'muthumariamman' we should not write like 'muthumari amman' there is 2 words so you should join the words so you get 'muthumariyamman'. Tamil people pronounce like this. If you can't understand just give me a message in my talk page or I'll do what you said before. Thank you. rupa$$$ (talk) 05:34, 24 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I have noticed that you have engaged in several edit wars in the recent past with the Wikipedians who are based in Sri Lanka. It seems that you have a racially motivated bullying intention that is targeted towards a certain group of Sri Lankan wikipedians. It also seems that some of your edits are clearly intended to stamp your authority on some editors, who create Sri Lanka related new pages. If you continue to harass Sri Lankan wikipedians in the future, you will be reported for racially motivated harassment in relevent noitce boards / forums of Wikimedia projects without any further notifications. --LahiruG talk 09:50, 22 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi thanks for your thoughts. Yes I know that they are not 100 percent reliable sources, but I have been watched those films in my own. Therefore I can provide the actors and other some stuff at 100 pervent sure reliability. The only thing is I cannot provide them as sources cz they are dvds. To provide a source it should be in a website. But website sources are very scarce for our film industry. Thats why I used those two websites even they are not sure in first place. Hi. Was notified of a copyright issue on the above article since the text sounded a bit too close to that of one of the sources. I tried modifying the text of the wiki entry, but I'm afraid there's only so much I can do- it's a list of military ranks and rank progressions, and there's only so many ways you can write it in prose. There's always going to be some similarity with the source text. Let me know if you have any suggestions :) 2402:4000:BBFE:D32A:5AA:F07F:9085:5B81 (talk) 14:39, 8 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I wish you had not reverted my start to copyediting. This month, the wikipedia:Guildof Copyeditors is running a drive to reduce the backlog of tagged articles. During such drives, it is my practice to delete ce tags when I begin working on an article, to reduce the likelihood that another editor will follow close behind me and waste one or our efforts. For that reason, I'd like to ask you not to revert actions such as mine. Always interested in a better solution... Lfstevens (talk) 07:32, 26 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I noticed that you'd removed a template and copy-edited the article. Thank you for that! But you could have included two inaccurate information within the infobox of it. The start point of Yodha Ela (Jaya Ganga) is not Kala Oya. The canal starts from Kala Wewa of which the Biso Kotuwa[1] emits water through its Sorowwa [2] and also it ends at the Tissa Wewa in Anuradhapura, not Malwathu Oya. Kala Oya basin is located far westward from the Kala Wewa and those are two separate subjects even the two names include Kala prefix. Malwathu oya is a natural river and Malwath Oya Basin is a large geographical area. Tissa Wewa feeds some parts of it but Yodha Ela doesn't end at the basin and doesn't feed water directly to the basin. I appreciate if you look in to the matter and do necessary corrections with a edit summary. I will add a clear image of the start point of the canal later. Thanks. Hi. Thankyou for your participation in the challenge series or/and contests. In November The Women in Red World Contest is being held to try to produce new articles for as many countries worldwide and occupations as possible. There will be over $4000 in prizes to win, including Amazon vouchers and paid subscriptions. If this would appeal to you and you think you'd be interested in contributing new articles on women during this month for your region or wherever please sign up in the participants section. The articles done may also count towards the ongoing challenge. If you're not interested in prize money yourself but are willing to participate and raise money to buy books about women for others to use, this is also fine. Help would also be appreciated in drawing up the lists of missing articles. If you think of any missing articles please add them to the sub lists by continent at Missing articles. Thankyou, and if taking part, good luck!♦ Dr. Blofeld 08:33, 5 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Dan arndt. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Are you sure Shakira isn't from Lebanon? - Shakira is half Colombian and half Lebanese by birth. I've seen in List of Nobel laureates by country that several persons holding multiple nationalities, there name is included in the all countries he was associated with, like Monachem Begin wasn't Russian or Polish, he only worked there for several years, are included in Polish or Russian Nobel laureates. I appreciate your edits, just asked you if I was wrong. মাখামাখি (talk) 08:35, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure why any of these lists are necessary, regardless of length. What does being from Croatia or being Croatian have anything to do with winning a Grammy Award. U2 has won Grammies and happen to be Irish, but being Irish doesn't really have any bearing on them winning the awards any more than Lady Gaga being an American who has won Grammies. There are a lot of awards out there, and while it can be argued that nationality has some meaning when winning a Nobel Prize, this just seems overkill. Or maybe there should there be a List of German Academy Award winners and nominees and so on, too? --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 00:37, 23 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The Arbitration Committee has authorised discretionary sanctions to be used for pages regarding living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles, a topic which you have edited. The Committee's decision is here.
Discretionary sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimize disruption to controversial topics. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to the topic that do not adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, our standards of behavior, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. This message is to notify you that sanctions are authorised for the topic you are editing. Your recent editing history at Otara Gunewardene shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Hi, Dan arndt.
I've noticed that you are an AfC reviewer but don't yet have the New Page Reviewer flag. Would you please consider heading over to PERM and requesting it? (check the flag requirements HERE)
As part of a larger plan to increase cooperation between New Page Patrol and Articles for creation, we are trying to get as many of the active AfC reviewers as possible under the NPR user flag (per this discussion). Unlike the AfC request list, the NPR flag carries no obligation to review new articles, so I'm not asking you to help out at New Page Patrol if you don't want to, just to request the flag.
Of course, if it is something you would be interested in, you can have a look at the NPP tutorial. Please mention that you are an active AfC reviewer in your application.
