Thanks for your message. My edit was correct. Either contributor's source (Tuplin) was wrong or else he has been misquoted. Either way the statement that BR Standard Class 7 locomotives do not have an exhaust steam injector is wrong and should be deleted. I have seen details and photos of the relevant injector online and a website about BR Class 8 locomotive 71000 (Duke of Gloucester) states that in order to cast a new injector for this the exhaust steam injector from a BR Class 7 was borrowed to copy. If required, I can provide website references to support this deletion.

Providing references is exactly what is required. It doesn’t matter if you believe your edit is correct - neither do I or any other editor have any reason to doubt it’s correct. However, if a statement of fact is made on Wikipedia, it must be backed up be a reliable source. That becomes doubly important if you are replacing content which is already sourced - even if you believe that source to be inaccurate. As it happens, @Redrose64 has already added this information - except he has done so with a reliable source, so there’s no problem.

Thanks for your reply and advice. which I shall bear in mind in future. I have checked the edit by Redrose64 and it is fine (and more informative than mine would have been), so I'll not do anything more on this one.
