Con-way Multimodal

Through its relationships with both small and large third-party carriers across the United States, Canada and Mexico, Con-way Multimodal offers shippers access to a broad range of transportation and logistics services with a nationwide network of over 15,000 3rd party carriers. These include carrier services for over-the-road, intermodal, flatbed, and heavy haul shipments as well as specialized transportation for truckload freight shipments. The company's reach extends throughout the United States and into Canada and Mexico.

As a non-asset-based transportation provider the company does not own its own trucks or other transportation equipment, and acts independent of its sister companies; Con-way Freight, Con-way Truckload and Menlo Worldwide Logistics. Con-way Multimodal’s role is to assess the transportation needs of a customer, then shop its carrier network to procure the service and price combination that meets the customer's needs. Currently, Con-way Multimodal has approximately 100 employees with hundreds of customers across diverse industries and geographies.

On June 8, 2010, Con-way Multimodal launched Con-way TweetLoad™, an innovative, patent-pending tool that leverages Twitter to match carriers, both owner-operators and fleets, with the company’s freight needs. Carriers following @ConwayTweetLoad Con-way Tweetload on Twitter can quickly see the latest available shipments, along with links to further information on the Con-way Multimodal LINK board, where the carriers can place bids on available loads daily. Con-way Multimodal is the first to connect a Twitter feed with an existing load board to provide carriers with real-time available loads via a computer or mobile device.

Con-way Multimodal is a member of the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) and is committed to upholding its principles.
