Why
My purpose in joining the Wikipedia Community was to create and develop articles regarding the title of the Turaga na Rasau and its Title Holders and their varied histories along with details on Lomaloma Tikina and its Villages and Communities. I will contribute further articles related to Lomaloma Tikina once I get my current articles formatted correctly. Also from time to time I will contribute and build on current articles on Fiji. Remember in regard to Fijis history there is limited documents on Fiji before the 1800s after that there is some documentation from explorers and missionaries from various continents up to cession in 1874 and after that whatever the British administration documented. old history was passed on by word of mouth from the elders to the children and so on and so forth and also preserved in chants and dances, so with that in mind I embark on this task, and would welcome constructive criticism and feedback in helping me get this contribution right. Heres a link to my user page on the Fijian Wikipedia project: http://fj.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Maikeli Why I like contributing on Wikipedia
It has improved my appreciation of knowledge as Wikipedia has provided me with basic understanding of the process involved and taught me how to better write and record information making it reliable, accurate, verifiable and balanced which in turn has helped me with my writing ventures and recording family history better. So in short I have found Wikipedia a great place to learn and as learning is a lifelong journey I hope to spend some of that journey contributing here on Wikipedia as I learn and grow. Dictyophorus spumans, the koppie foam grasshopper, is a species of grasshopper in the family Pyrgomorphidae, indigenous to southern Africa. The name "foam grasshopper" derives from the insect's ability to produce a toxic foam from its thoracic glands, using a combination of hemolymph with air from the grasshopper's spiracles. Adult males are typically 4.5 to 5 centimetres (1.8 to 2.0 inches) long, and females typically 5 to 7 centimetres (2.0 to 2.8 inches), but individual grasshoppers can grow up to a length of 8 centimetres (3.1 inches). This grasshopper of the subspecies D. s. spumans was photographed in the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden in Roodepoort, South Africa. Photograph credit: Charles J.
