Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Transportation in Metro Manila may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Archive reminder

Thank you for the reminder; I've archived some of my talk page. I had thought to leave the content there for easy access during the RfB, but then again, it's just as easy to access my archives. Thanks. :) Acalamari 12:03, 24 January 2014 (UTC)

Spelling variant in Tokyo section

Hi there! Please review the Manual of Style. Topics not having to do directly with an English-speaking country use whatever variant of English the first substantial article was written in. (And, by the way, 70% of Japanese periodicals use American English -- but that's irrelevant here.)

Thanks!Samuel Webster (talk) 04:45, 9 February 2014 (UTC)

Thank you for the reminder. I just looked at the page revision history and found out that centre was frequently used in Tokyo. Maybe I overreacted to the IP who changed the spelling to center, as the other spelling was long ago already in the article. But, nonetheless, thank you again. I should be more considerate next time when rollbacking with Twinkle. Japanese Rail Fan (talk) 05:17, 9 February 2014 (UTC)

Thank you for your politeness! These questions are often very sensitive for people. (They can be for me, for ex.!) I try to look carefully at a page's history before making a spelling change (or correcting someone else's correction, etc.). The Tokyo page has had a mix of spellings, but it was clearly mostly American for a long time. And then someone changed center to centre in November. That was a mistake, so I wanted to correct it. Best wishes! Samuel Webster (talk) 18:49, 9 February 2014 (UTC)

A kitten for you!

Thank you for your good faithed comment in my RfA. Please let me know if there's anything you'd like to ask, either there or here (with an WP:ECHO, please). I'd also recommend reading the recent comment by DGG at the RfA, as I find he addresses certain points much better than I could. Cheers,

PAGASA

Hi JRF, While i wouldn't normally mind you updating the lists to put Katring back in, the problem is that is saying Kanor. It is worth noting that Katring has been used since 1987, so it may be a case of the name being removed due to it being used several times rather than because of 2010's version.Jason Rees (talk) 14:22, 22 February 2014 (UTC)

Consider this: You reverted the last edit to bring back Kanor in but the reference was the old one as it says "Effective June 2012". But then the link you are pointing out here is not in the article. Would you mind if the ref will be changed to update to the most recent source? Thanks for doing this... I just thought that the one who added Kanor was a disruptive editor and I did not look at the ref. But still, I'm wrong. Thanks for correcting me. Japanese Rail Fan (talk) 14:32, 22 February 2014 (UTC)
I have no problems with that though i think it may be better to have both since while says effective 2012 it aint unless they are trying to tell us that Yolanda and others were going to be retired before Haiyan hit.Jason Rees (talk) 14:42, 22 February 2014 (UTC)
That will be fine with me. For as long as the content in the article is the latest information. Japanese Rail Fan (talk) 08:37, 23 February 2014 (UTC)

Thank you for your RfA support

Hi there, a bit of a form letter from me, Cyphoidbomb, but I wanted to drop you a line and thank you for your support at my recent RfA. Although I was not successful, I certainly learned quite a bit both about the RfA process and about how the community views my contributions. It was an eye-opener, to say the least. Thank you! Cyphoidbomb (talk) 00:36, 30 March 2014 (UTC)

Just a short word also: You should continue what you are doing and improve on what others think you lack, so that the next time around you have an RfA, you can get promoted. Never be discouraged and keep it up! Cheers :) Japanese Rail Fan (talk) 06:45, 30 March 2014 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia from the Anatomy Wikiproject!

Welcome to Wikipedia from Wikiproject Anatomy! We're a group of editors who strive to improve the quality of anatomy articles here on Wikipedia. One of our members has noticed that you are involved in editing anatomy articles; it's great to have a new interested editor on board. In your wiki-voyages, a few things that may be relevant to editing wikipedia articles are:

  • Thanks for coming aboard! We always appreciate a new editor. Feel free to leave us a message at any time on the WikiProkect Anatomy talk page. If you are interested in joining the project yourself, there is a participant list where you can sign up. Please leave a message on the talk page if you have any problems, suggestions, would like review of an article, need suggestions for articles to edit, or would like some collaboration when editing!
  • You will make a big difference to the quality of information by adding reliable sources. Sourcing anatomy articles is essential and makes a big difference to the quality of articles. And, while you're at it, why not use a book to source information, which can source multiple articles at once!
  • We try and use a standard way of arranging the content in each article. That layout is here. These headings let us have a standard way of presenting the information in anatomical articles, indicate what information may have been forgotten, and save angst when trying to decide how to organise an article. That said, this might not suit every article. If in doubt, be bold!
  • Lastly, why not try and strive to create a good article! Anatomical articles are often small in scope, have available sources, and only a limited amount of research available that is readily presentable!

Feel free to contact us on the WikiProkect Anatomy talk page if you have any problems, or wish to join us. I wish you all the best on your wiki-voyages! Thanks for your current and future copyedits to Tendon, they're much appreciated. --LT910001 (talk) 09:48, 6 May 2014 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Kabala Airport, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kabala (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

PBB All In

Hi JRF! I know that you are the biggest contributor to the chronology section, and I really really appreciate your super great <insert 100000x more adjective here> effort. But I think we should re-write all of them, make them shorter. We should remove the information of "drama scenes." Or if we can not remove them all, we can pick several "drama/emotion"-filled summaries if they are really that important (To what is important, I think we have to define that first). Also for competition summaries, I think we can give write the competition mechanics and then shoot directly to the result. That way we can keep the daily summary shorter. To the task summaries, if its only a minor one... we should keep it short. Or if a task is really relevant to several or all housemates, I think we can keep it detailed... but still short if possible (Hahaha!). Please tell me what you think about this. --AR E N Z O Y 1 6At a l k 15:25, 26 May 2014 (UTC)

@Renzoy16: I have thought of this also a few days back. I have read the Pinoy Big Brother: Unlimited events and Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition 4 articles and found out that "Oh dear. This one is getting too long. I have to remove some things here but we will miss out some useful info." This will be a nice idea. We could also make a Pinoy Big Brother: All In events article similar to the Pinoy Big Brother: Unlimited events article once it becomes too long. I checked out the PBB All In just before this comment and saw that section was already trimmed down. I had logged out immediately after my last edit to the article so I wasn't able to read your message yesterday. But I appreciate the hard job by Oenix burning the midnight oil there. So we're now below the 100k mark? Japanese Rail Fan 06:42, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
By the way, what things should we call as "nonessential information" and should not be included in the chronology? Japanese Rail Fan 06:47, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
Hi JRF! Can you please go to Pinoy Big Brother: All Talk page? Let's continue the conversation there. And also, so that we can talk with Oenix too. --AR E N Z O Y 1 6At a l k 10:22, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
Hey, I got tagged here. Haha. Anyways, thanks for a big contribution to the chronology page of PBB All In. I trimmed the section down yesterday because I had nothing else left to do yesterday. I opened up a forum there for us to talk about the events section. Thanks! Oenix (talk) 11:17, 27 May 2014 (UTC)

Thank You for fixing the grammar! (:

Hi there! thank you for fixing the grammar of the main page of Tropical Storm Fung-wong (2014). I appreciate it. sorry I am not that good in english language. I hope in the future you can do it again. thanks again! :) Jpuligan 12 (talk) 11:24, 20 September 2014 (UTC)

Would you have any suggestions?

A few months ago during the eventually unsuccessful Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship/Piotrus_3 you voted "neutral". You said "Neutral for now as to see whether or not contributions can say that you need a wet mop.". I am not sure I understand what you meant. Would you like to elaborate? ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. New 10,000 Challenge for Canada

Hi, Wikipedia:WikiProject Canada/The 10,000 Challenge is up and running based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge for the UK which has currently produced over 2300 article improvements and creations. If you'd like to see large scale quality improvements happening for Canada like The Africa Destubathon, which has produced over 1600 articles in 5 weeks, sign up on the page. The idea will be an ongoing national editathon/challenge for Canada but fuelled by a contest such as The North America Destubathon to really get articles on every province and subject mass improved. I would like some support from Canadian wikipedians here to get the Challenge off to a start with some articles to make doing a Destubathon worthwhile! Cheers. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:55, 22 November 2016 (UTC)

2019 US Banknote Contest

US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here
