The 151st Infantry Regiment "Sassari" (Italian: 151º Reggimento fanteria "Sassari") is an infantry regiment of the Italian Army. First activated in early 1915 for the First World War, today it's part of the "Sassari" Mechanized Brigade and is made up almost entirely by Sardinians[1].
History
The regiment was activated as 151st Infantry Regiment ("Sassari" Brigade) on March 1, 1915 in Sinnai, from the depot of the 46th Infantry Regiment ("Reggio" Brigade). Together with the 152nd Infantry Regiment it formed the "Sassari" Brigade, an all-Sardinian Mobile Militia (second line) infantry brigade. The regiment had a table of organization strength of 81 officers and 3505 other ranks in a regimental headquarters and three rifle battalions, each with four rifle companies and a machine-gun section.
