Hello there! My name is aficionado538. I mostly edit the pages of politics, elections, and opinion polls of Botswana, US and EU countries.

In my spare time, I enjoy cycling on the weekends. Ideologically, I find myself mainly aligning with social liberalism. I'm a huge fan of European and European Parliament elections and find them particularly fascinating! And above all, I'm an ardent advocate for proportional representation and I can't put into words how much I hate FPTP! It is a major reason why politics here in Botswana and elsewhere is unfair and broken.

I strive to make sure that the politics etc., of my country are well represented. I'm currently limited by time and don't have the opportunity to fully achieve my goals. But I try to do whatever I can for the time being.

Depiction in media

I've been depicted in a YouTube video titled The Wikpedia Elections Edit War based on the talk page discussion of the 2024 Botswana general election. The video has more than 260 thousand views and I just found the whole ordeal humorous.

On May 10, 2024, a section of a page I created (Kanye South) caught the attention of many people when it was revealed to them that the constituency is to be renamed "Kanye West" after a Twitter post brought this detail to light. This led to some vandalism of the article (as expected) as well as a YouTube video about this.
