Petroleum Warfare Department
- ... that in WWII Britain's Petroleum Warfare Department threatened to set the sea on fire?

- Length, history and reference verified. But ... could we do something about prose like "the rumours spread as surely as oil spreads on water"? It doesn't appear to be attributed to a source, so it's either copied or it's not encyclopedic if it's original to us. Daniel Case (talk) 04:34, 23 June 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for looking; its a long article and takes time to review. The words to which you refer are mine. I think the prose is pretty dry and I didn't see anything wrong with a fairly common idiom that happened to appropriate. Still, as it is getting in the way I will remove it. If there is anything else you feel should go, please feel free to remove it. Happy editing Gaius Cornelius (talk) 10:07, 23 June 2013 (UTC)
