Ethnological and sociological view

I miss a treatment of differences in age of weaning according to cultural and class situation. For example, I remember reading in The Chrysanthemum and the Sword that Japanese mothers enjoyed breastfeeding their children and, when Western medicine practitioners instructed them to wean them earlier, the mothers reluctantly did so, believing it was for the better of the child.I regret I don't have the Benedict reference available.--Error (talk) 11:55, 8 October 2021 (UTC)

I found the Benedict text myself, but surely anthropologists have studied the factors in weaning around the world. --Error (talk) 12:12, 8 October 2021 (UTC)
