As USPS members, we don't have any "official authority" so to speak.USCG Auxiliary has authority while on a Coast Guard assignment or volunteering aboard a Coast Guard Vessel, and many USCGA members volunteer, usually in the vessel safety inspection or in the area of port security on the water.I think the easiest way to explain it in laymans terms is, the Coast Guard is like the police, the USGC Auxiliary is like a volunteer policeman, and the USPS is like the neighborhood watch.
