Considering that snooker isn't the only sport with a UK championship, wouldn't this page be better named "UK Championship (snooker)". For now, "UK Championship" can be redirected to the snooker tournament, and if more sports add pages about a UK championship, the "UK Championship" link can be made into a disambiguation page. As it stands everything is in the one giant "History" paragraph and it is hard to pull out the information you want. A section about format would be useful: qualifiers, number of frames per match/session, prize money for various finishes. Also perhaps a separate section about the venue: various moves, seating, number of tables, etc). Separating the founding and advance to ranking title, etc then a subsection for the memorable matches. Television info could also be interesting, which channel, viewership (if available) maybe this could be added to the chart? I am relatively new to the sport and don't feel expert enough to take it on myself. Thanks. -- InspectorTiger (talk) 16:23, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

At the start of 2015 the table of results looked like this The table was nicely designed and it was easy to visually scan the rows and read off the results. At some point since then the sponsors were added in and the venues were converted to rowspans, leaving the table looking like this. IMO opinion it looked like a dog's dinner. I don't think the sponsors are pertinent information for a historical overview of the tournament, and adding in the rowspans has turned the table into an ugly mess. It makes it much harder to read, and I suspect all the rowspans could well cause access issues for screenreaders. I reverted the table to its old format last month, but this edit has since been undone by Nick C. A similar thing has happened at Masters (snooker) too. I would like to get further input from the community. Do editors think that the sponsors are essential information for an overview, and do they really think the new version is an improvement over the old version? The result of the move request was: no consensus to move the pages at this time, per the discussion below. Dekimasuよ! 19:27, 8 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
– To fix the ambiguous name. There are many UK championships in different sports, for example: UK Championship (IFSA), UK Championships in Athletics. Note, all other season articles already have the correct format like 2014 UK Championship (snooker). 46.211.67.181 (talk) 13:20, 1 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
