Poor English

I came across this article at random. The intro is poor and so I have pasted it in here and put my comments in italics alongside. The title also seems odd. Would the word "forestry" mean the same thing or perhaps "Institute of Forest Sciences" or the "Institute of Forest Studies"?

Institute of Forest SB RAS - "SB RAS" is not explained. I guess the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences

is the first academic institution of forest profile in Russia. - was the first academic institute for the study of forests to be created in Russia. "Forest profile" is not a term that I would recognise.

It was founded in 1944 in Moscow by an outstanding native biologist academician Vladimir Nikolayevich Sukachev. - "outstanding" is unnecessary. "native biologist" is unclear. Does this emphasise he was Russian or an expert in the native flora and fauna of Russia? I believe that academician is a title like professor. If so, it should have a capital letter. I would prefer "It was founded in 1944 by Academician Vladimir Nikolayevich, who was an acknowledged expert on the plants and animals of Russia", if it means the same thing.

The institute was named after him in 1967. - Perhaps replace "him" with "Sukachev".

In 1959 the Institute was joined in Siberian Branch of Academy of Sciences of the USSR and transferred to Krasnoyarsk. - Perhaps the following would be better "In 1959 the Institute was merged with the Siberian Branch of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR and so moved to Krasnoyarsk".
