It could do with at least a mention. I remember it being mentioned in news articles on this topic. Anyone have a link maybe to ISIS' full statements regarding Paddock? Phil of rel (talk) 02:22, 20 January 2023 (UTC)

It has its own paragraph in the article, so it is mentioned, and debunked. ---- Patar knight - chat/contributions 03:42, 20 January 2023 (UTC)
Okay, didn't see the paragraph, but it's hardly debunked. Muslims do not believe in lots of the Christian scriptures, hence, the claim that he said to his Catholic girlfriend "your God doesn't love me" doesn't really prove he didn't convert to Islam. Edit: delete edit as irrelevant. I guess the atheist descriptor is true. Sorry for the claim that it was irresponsible to say that such claims were debunked.--Phil of rel (talk) 23:10, 21 January 2023 (UTC)

Merge proposal

I propose merging Stephen Paddock into 2017 Las Vegas shooting. I think that Stephen Paddock is not notable without the 2017 Las Vegas shooting; and, therefore, the content in his article can be merged into its own section within the article of the 2017 Las Vegas shooting. While the Stephen Paddock article is well-written and even received a B classification, much of the content is unrelated to what makes him arguably notable and thus I think can be condensed into a section instead of its own article.Geeky Randy (talk) 23:23, 19 January 2024 (UTC)

Merge – Paddock is not notable outside of the 2017 Las Vegas shooting and therefore the content of his article can be condensed and merged.Geeky Randy (talk) 23:25, 19 January 2024 (UTC)
Oppose merge: while WP:CRIME does say that perpetrators of crimes generally are not notable enough for their own articles, it does offer the following exception: if "(t)he motivation for the crime or the execution of the crime is unusual—or has otherwise been considered noteworthy—such that it is a well-documented historic event. Generally, historic significance is indicated by sustained coverage of the event in reliable secondary sources which persists beyond contemporaneous news coverage and devotes significant attention to the individual's role." The 2017 Las Vegas shooting has continued to receive sustained coverage in the six years since, much of which focuses on Paddock's role. Happieryet (talk) 09:38, 9 February 2024 (UTC)
