Oliver or Richard ?
I found a secondary source The Life of John Thurloe by Philip Aubrey, which implies that it was Oliver not Richard involved in the Willis plot. The primary source is Welwood's memoirs of 1700. The plot appears to have taken plaxce in 1657, when Oliver was still alive.--Streona (talk) 19:10, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
January 2011
I have just added a source to this article and ask for citations for information in the article that was not covered by the information contained in the source. However I have deleted two sentences that are contradicted by the information in the source.
A cavalry officer under Prince Rupert, he had been Governor of Newark but was dismissed by King Charles I in October 1645 after siding with Rupert following his defeat at Bristol.
Because it seems unlikely that he would have received a baronetcy from Charles if he was out of favour and in exile.
and is thought to have lived out the remainder of his life in America.
Because his will was recorded in England just before his assumed death. -- PBS (talk) 13:38, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
