Out of my depth here, but can anyone explain what is going on in this change (over the series of four quick edits by two apparently different people) from Seith Low to Charles Murphy? I'll admit I don't know a lot about this period but Seith Low is at least a vaguely familiar name to me. I'm guessing from context that Charles Murphy would be Charles Francis Murphy, but does Seith Low figure in the story somewhere? Exactly. I suppose we'd need something like a death (or birth) certificate or census data for either date to be authoritative beyond a reasonable doubt. Biruitorul 02:04, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

I would like to move adding this topic to the article of Richard Croker. It identifies his wife, her location of orgin, and her family.

A niece of the late Congressman W.W. Hastings of Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Mrs Croker was the only Indian who ever owned a castlein Ireland. She received it through the will of her husband. Mr. andMrs. Bruce Garrett and their daughter, Kathleen, lived in the Irish castle until the children by Croker's first marriage took it awayfrom Mrs. Croker in a legal battle. Mrs. Garrett was Mrs. Croker's sister.

Congressman Hastings went to Europe to fight the case in thecourts, and as far as can be ascertained Hastings was the onlyAmerican Indian who ever defended a law suit in Europe.

Edward F. Croker was a famous fire chief (not Commissioner) in New York City and author on fire prevention and fire fighting who later founded (?) a fire equipment company, Croker Fire Protection, now Fire-End and Croker Corporation. I wonder whether he might have owed a portion of his career and business success to some blood relationship to Richard, who had been Fire Commissioner. DCDuring (talk) 13:30, 12 February 2011 (UTC)

Did Tweed convert to Catholicism? There is nothing in the article, yet his funeral details: "After a Requiem Mass in the private oratory, the burial service was conducted by the Right Rev. Dr. W.J. Miller [Roman Catholic Titular Bishop of Eumenia]" would indicate he did. Anyone know anything about this? Quis separabit? 00:31, 12 December 2016 (UTC)
