I originally included this as a note under Starved Rock State Park. A deletion troll immediately deleted the mention as being "irrelevant" even though 1) it directly adjoins the park and expands the protected area and is part of the integrated ecosystem; 2) it is clearly visible from almost every major lookout in the park; 3) it is an important nesting site for bald eagles; and 4) many of the Starved Rock visitors are there hoping to see the bald eagles. That's why I made this a separate page, because it was deleted from where I placed it. It belongs on Wikipedia somewhere. jaknouse (talk) 17:39, 9 March 2011 (UTC)

It would be great if a citation troll would add reliable third-party sources to establish notability and to support the facts lest the OR trolls carry the day.Novaseminary (talk) 02:22, 10 March 2011 (UTC)
The source that someone added which said that that the eagle release happened at Plum Island and that that was "at Starved Rock" I think reinforces Jaknouse's original points. But all's well that ends well, a separate article is fine too. North8000 (talk) 18:03, 26 November 2011 (UTC)

Size

The sources list the size as 45, 52 and 55 acres. This can be covered when a body is developed; I didn't want to clutter the "lead" with qualifiers or multiple numbers. North8000 (talk) 12:30, 26 October 2011 (UTC)

Proposed merge of Plum Island Site into Plum Island Eagle Sanctuary

Site within the (very small) island. Both are well written and should be kept in their entirety. BeowulfBrower (talk) 03:50, 11 October 2020 (UTC)

Support. Despite what the title may imply, this is an article about the island and so IMO a good place for the site info. Sincerely, North8000 (talk) 16:42, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
Am fixin on merging just as soon as I can make my way down to Utica to pull the citation from Reports on Illinois Prehistory Vol. 1 BeowulfBrower (talk) 17:11, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
Support. Hope this can be done. Bigturtle (talk) 11:44, 14 April 2021 (UTC)
