Etymology
I'd like to call into question the statement that the spirit is named after the mythical phoenix. I think there may be other possibilities, such as the bird is named after the spirit or the bird is the spirit... Unless this can be sourced, I think it should be stuck from the Article. —XSG 14:28, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
I think it might be that this is where the legend of the phoenix was born. Phenex also hoped to be reborn in heaven as an angel once more... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.15.38.187 (talk) 08:29, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
- The story of the pheonix is from Greek mythology, thousands of years before Phenex was written about. The earliest sources on Phenex reference the story of the pheonix. While it is possible that the name could have come somewhere else, Phenex was influenced by Pheonix, not the other way around. Ian.thomson (talk) 14:46, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
