Rummell Mill
Why does the reference say that Rummell Mill is located on State Route 349? I looked it up on the maps and it shows that Rummell Mill is located on Benedict Rd. (Township Hwy. 349), northeast of Butler. State Route 349 is located in south-central Ohio, State Route 95 travels northeast out of Butler. You just take State Route 95 northeast out of Butler, about 1.2 miles (1.9 km) to Benedict Rd. (Township Hwy. 349). Go about 2010 ft (613 m) east-northeast on Benedict Rd., Rummell Mill is on the right, just before you get to the Clear Fork of Mohican River bridge.
Although I reverted my edit, my figures are right on that one. Take a look at the reference on Rummell Mill, it says State Route 349, its wrong? OHWiki (talk) 20:30, 17 July 2011 (UTC)
- I went to the Rummell Mill home site today with my camera (March 22, 2012) and sadly the home is gone. The home must of been torn down due to the August 2007 flood that may have runned the historic home for good. The waters of the Clear Fork of Mohican River must have swallowed up the Rummell Mill home. This is so sad because the house was an historic landmark with the nice historic bridge close by that made for a nice picture view. So now we have four historic places in Richland County, Ohio that no longer exist anymore that are still on the National Register of Historic Places listings in Richland County, Ohio. Four places on NRHP no longer exist
There are three places on the National Register of Historic Places in Richland County, Ohio that no longer exist anymore, like the old Springfield Township School at 3560 Park Avenue West in Ontario. The old school was torn down in 2007 to make way for the new Park Meadows Senior Apartments. The Pacific Curios Antiques at 365 Park Avenue West in Mansfield was torn down many years ago to make way for the new Park Avenue Car Wash at 381 Park Avenue West. I tryed to located it, never was found. The John Sherman Memorial Gateway, located at 699 Park Avenue West in Mansfield may also no longer exist anymore. I drove by South Park where 699 PAW would be located, but I never could find it. It also must of been torn down years ago too. OHWiki (talk) 21:25, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
- The Rummell Mill home on Benedict Road (Township Highway 349) just outside of Butler, Ohio no longer exist anymore. The August 2007 floods must have washed the historic home completely out for good since it was located by the Clear Fork of Mohican River. I'd list these at Wikipedia:WikiProject_National_Register_of_Historic_Places/NRIS_information_issues/Ohio#Demolished_but_still_listed, though I have my doubts about how fast the news will be acted on (Actually, I have no doubt that it won't be acted on this year!). You might also look to User:Nyttend for Ohio advice. BTW, I think I got a bad shot of the gateway (or at least A gateway) at 699, but didn't believe I was looking at a NRHP site - I'll try to find it and put it here.
