Hong Kong TVB has given the English name Mother at 14 to the drama. It would be more comprehensible for using that as the article name in this English wikipedia, if only this English version has been made. - PeterCX&Talk 16:19, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
With the large number of abortions in the country, especially among unmarried youths, there has been a huge push politically to counter this in order to combat the dangerously low birth rate. It was commonly said among viewers here, but never reported in mainstream press, that the production was created and slanted as propaganda to affect the birth rate.
