Difficult to say. They are certainly part of the Universal Copyright Convention, but WIPO is not always clear about which dependent territories are parties to their treaties. As far as I can gather, their copyright law is the UK Copyright Act 1956. Physchim62 (talk) 14:13, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

Observers at the World Trade Organization are countries which are in the process of becoming members, and hence in the process of signing up to TRIPS. As TRIPS requires compliance with the Berne Convention, they may well join the Berne Convention even sooner (if they have not already done so). I am removing Timor-Leste (East Timor) from the list. It had a comment to "See Indonesia." Apparently the idea was that, since Timor-Leste was formerly part of Indonesia, it inherited Indonesia's treaty affiliations upon gaining independence. I don't believe that that is true, and have found no sources to suggest that it is. None of the lists of treaty parties that are sources for this article list East Timor as signatiories. Neither does the U.S. State Departments "Treaties In Force" document ([1]). TIF lists numerous treaties with Timor-Leste, both bilateral and multilateral, but not for any of the copyright agreements. Some table entries for Montenegro said "See Serbia and Montenegro", with an internal link to the row for Serbia. (There was and is no row for S&M as such.) I edited those entries to use the dates from Serbia, with a link to a reference indicating that Montenegro (upon independence) declared the relevant treaties to be still in effect. I was hoping to also find a list of which countries have currently signed the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA). The article on ACTA is quite good but I think that information would also be expected here. Users who can't remember the name of the law currently making its way through the EU might start here, so perhaps at least a link to the ACTA page? Caffeinebump (talk) 16:07, 15 March 2012 (UTC)

ACTA is not yet in force, so it would be premature to add it to the table. But you raise a good point, some may look to this page to see who has signed it (no one has yet ratified it). I've added an explanatory paragraph. My pessimistic feeling is that ACTA will be ratified, at which time we can add a new column to the table. In the event it fails, the paragraph I added should be deleted, and relegated to the "See also" section with a link to Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement. TJRC (talk) 21:30, 15 March 2012 (UTC)

ACTA has been ratified by Japan. We are 1/6 of the way there. More over there doesn't appear to be an expiration date so this could stealthily come into effect 100 years from now. I think we are at the point where it should be added to the table. -- BlindWanderer (talk) 05:49, 8 April 2013 (UTC)

Someone decided to add columns for the Buenos Aires Convention (probably unneeded) and the Marrakesh VIP Treaty (not a bad idea). Unfortunately the additions destroyed the existing table.
