"Served as training ships" - the Schleswig-Holstein fired the first shots of the war in Europe. Not quite "training". --89.53.7.27 (talk) 00:37, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

True, but not necessarily contradictory. The class were listed as coastal defence ships or as training ships. Either way the guns still worked and their listing probably acted to distract from their effectiveness as artillery platforms. Folks at 137 (talk) 20:46, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
