Second Libyan Civil WarLibyan Civil War (2014–2020) – Despite having more results compared to how many results the First Libyan Civil War has, still, most sources do not include “second” in the title. Support: The nomenclature of "first" and "second" here is an editorial deployment on Wikipedia, but has little currency in the actual literature. The "first" war, as it were, is actually generally referred to as the "17 February Revolution", not as a civil war at all. Revolutions, by their nature, often entail a certain degree of civil conflict - take for example the French revolution - but this does not subsume all other meanings or necessitate a 'civil war' label. Iskandar323 (talk) 06:37, 7 August 2023 (UTC)
("Libyan civil war" should be sentence case, i.e. lower case civil war.) Iskandar323 (talk) 14:42, 17 August 2023 (UTC)

  • Support. The article should never have been moved to this title in the first place. "Second" isn't strongly associated with this conflict to make a COMMONNAME argument so it's better to use something neutral and non-controversial such as dates. SnowFire (talk) 03:34, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
  • Support move to Libyan civil war (2014–2020) - Most sources do not capitalize c and w in the civil war word group.

Start date is wrong

The Libyan civil war did not start in 2014 but in 2011, when the Gadaffi regime was overthrown by rebels backed by armed NATO intervention. Ever since then there has been a civil war with rival armed groups, often backed by external state actors and private military companies, vying for power in Libya. Bengtang (talk) 14:52, 16 September 2023 (UTC)

You're talking about the 2011 civil war and the ongoing crisis caused by it, including the factional violence and wider aftermath. Each have their own articles separate from this one. ThatRandomGuy1 (talk) 02:06, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
