  • New enough and long enough. QPQ exempt. (The orphan tag is not a dispute tag that blocks approval per DYKSG D6.) All three hook facts check out (the ABOUTSELF Instagram post corroborated by the Independent cite). No textual issues. I strongly prefer ALT0 as most interesting over ALT1 or ALT2, personally—removing someone as next of kin is highly unusual (but ALT1 and ALT2 are factual and should remain options). @Bsoyka and Sammi Brie: Typically, DYK doesn't include the names of people in hooks unless that person has their own article. I also am not sure what "kept out" is referring to. Since ALT0 is preferred, I have proposed an ALT below:
*ALT0a: ... that Alexis Sharkey's husband was removed as her next of kin and not told of her funeral?
Thoughts? Z1720 (talk) 17:27, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
Pulled hook and reopened, see discussion on DYK talk page [4] Cwmhiraeth (talk) 13:39, 22 August 2022 (UTC)
Given the issues, the tick above needs to be superseded with an icon indicating that work is still needed. BlueMoonset (talk) 16:40, 23 August 2022 (UTC)
For clarity, the discussion Cwmhiraeth meant to link to can be found here. And it was a good call to pull that one, as the article then still included an unsourced mention of who her killer was, even though noone was convicted (since recitified). Not sure whether @Sammi Brie you want to tackle this again, or we need a new reviewer? --LordPeterII (talk) 23:23, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
@LordPeterII: Probably best to have some fresh eyes on this. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 06:34, 29 August 2022 (UTC)
New reviewer needed. --LordPeterII (talk) 08:09, 29 August 2022 (UTC)
  • I performed a significant copyedit. I find ALT2 confirmed, interesting, and in the article. The article was new enough and long enough when nominated and the QPQ is not needed. The article has the correct citations. No copyright violation issues are readily apparent. The article is encyclopedic in tone now and neutral. I think the article is interesting and has enough sustained and widespread coverage to overcome the @Black Kite:'s concern about WP:NOTNEWS. I also rejected the hook that @Cwmhiraeth: called out - I did not find it interesting. Bruxton (talk) 16:57, 30 August 2022 (UTC)

Ricardo?

"Alexis later spent the evening with Ricardo, and they made plans to watch movies that Saturday while laughing and playing games." This is the first mention of the name "Ricardo" in the article and the only other mention is of a detective with that first name. Is there something missing? Or is this a mistake? Or vandalism? --User:Khajidha (talk) (contributions) 23:20, 21 August 2022 (UTC)

I thought the same thing. Tagging the article. – Muboshgu (talk) 15:40, 22 August 2022 (UTC)
I checked a few of the sources and can't find anything about these plans, but did find references to a friend named Tanya Ricardo. Pinging @Bsoyka: for possible clarification as they are the primary author of this article. --User:Khajidha (talk) (contributions) 18:35, 23 August 2022 (UTC)

Murder of > Killing of?

Should this be at Killing of, since we don't have a murder conviction? Valereee (talk) 15:43, 25 August 2022 (UTC)

@Valereee: I am unsure of the title protocol here and I may need to read MOS:ARTICLETITLE more carefully. But I copyedited and reviewed for DYK, if you have time can you look over my edits? Bruxton (talk) 17:03, 30 August 2022 (UTC)
I concur with OP on title proposal. While it's been confirmed the death is a homicide, the fact that this was a murder remains to be seen. Nineteen Ninety-Four guy (talk) 13:56, 9 September 2022 (UTC)
